The C5s just didn't seem to handle as well with the C6 Z06 shocks, tending to get upset over bumps. Sometimes stiffer isn't better.

I absolutely agree. For street use only, if you're worried about a rough ride leave it alone. But if you track, it's a must do mod. I had base springs, Z06 bars, and Z06 shocks. Made a huge difference on the road course. It was a little stiffer on the street, but not bad by my standards. If you don't track I wouldn't bother.

I'm getting confused which shocks you are referring to. Are you saying the C6 Z06 shocks are too stiff for a C5? Aren't the 04 Z06 shocks expensive? What about using the C6 Z51 shocks instead of 04 Z06 shocks? There is a considerable price gap between C5 and C6 shocks.

Default shocks

Got mine from Gene at Beans and I used mechanics wire instead of plastice ties.

What I'm saying is that, if you're tracking your car, the '04 Z06 shocks (which were tuned for the C5 Z06 chassis) seems to do a better job than the C6 Z06 shocks, which were tuned for that chassis.

I understand that the C6 Z06 shocks are about $100 more, but if you're trying to get the best out of your suspension, the '04 Z06 shocks are pretty darn good (at least until you're spending $2000+ for double adjustable shocks).

Have a good one,
Mike
