Finished installing new shocks this afternoon and took a short drive. Car only has 7,500 miles but I thought I'd give them a try. Rode with a friend who has bilsteins and wanted to try something different. Makes a world of difference, sway bars gave it the leveling in turns, but the shocks make it feel like the car and the road are "in tune". Best handling mod I've done. Not harsh, but firm, and feels like you have total control.

Mine have been sitting on the kitchen counter for a few days. I'm going to tackle the install tomorrow. How was the install? Any pointers you can give?
Thanks,
jeff

bring healthy zip ties.
i tried regular ones and had to make a trip to HD to get the fatties.
Bilsteins feel less in contact with the road (but still great).
Use another jack to raise the A-arm and use heavy duty zip ties. This follishness about being able to remove the rears by just twisting the lower part of the shock just "an't gonna get it". Compressing the shocks and using the zip ties save a lot of effort.
Even for an old guy with arthritisit it wasn't too bad.
Hi there,
We have them in stock for 196.75 shipped if anyone is interested!
Thanks,

Got mine from Gene. Great service and prices.
They are quite a bit more stiff than the base shocks. I'm going to my first track event with them this weekend, looking forward to that - I hope it tames some floatiness the base shocks have at speed.
How do these compare to the C5 Z06 shocks? I am confused on the difference between the two shocks.
I went through this earlier this year wanting to upgrade my shocks for autocross and track days. Back and forth, back and forth. For those that just want to drive on the street, there's probably little if any difference.
However, if you're going to be competing in your car, then the jury came back in favor of the '04 Z06 shocks (I upgraded from Z-51 suspension, which is very similar to Z06 specs). The C5s just didn't seem to handle as well with the C6 Z06 shocks, tending to get upset over bumps. Sometimes stiffer isn't better.
