tempermental power seat
My '02 ZO6 has an intermittent power seat problem. When you pull out the key the seat goes back to the furthest position. When you reinsert the key sometimes it doesn't return to the preset position. Any idea what would cause this?

Mine does the same thing all the time. The only way it goes back to the preset position for sure is when I use the unlock button on the fob. If I leave the car unlocked and get in, half the time it will work and the other half I have to press the button. Same thing when I remove the key. Sometimes it moves back, sometimes it doesn't.

My 02 z does the same thing. It is the way that they designed it. The 97, 98 and 99 C5 had the passive fobs and would alert the BCM as to which driver was attempting entry and you didn't have this issue on those year cars. If you use the fob that is preset to your functions to unlock the car, you will not have the problem.

I had all kinds of strange problems with mine. The seat wouldn't always go back to the preset condition even if I did everything correctly. Recently, It went to hell completely and the light would just blink.
I took mine to the dealer and they reflashed it and it was working on the drive home. I will have the car out again this weekend and I will hopefully have the same result.
