Default stall converter recomendations

looking to buy a good stall converter for the 99' coupe. basically a stock car just go drag racing 5-6 times a year and is daily driven. I was considering a 3500-3800 from Precision Industries or Yank. only mods on car are Nitto DR's. Nothing more but just want that hole-shot for drag racing.

should i skip to the 4000 stall for a stock motor? i've heard good things about those stall speeds for LS1 cars and have been in a few F-bodies with TCI 3800 super street fighters and was impressed

I had a 4000 stall with stock internals and it worked very well. But plan on using E.T. streets or Mickey Thompson DR's with a converter that big.

thanks FACE, probobly will go for the higher stall speed like the 4000 YANK since later mods will always happen for the car.

Go with the Yank SS4000 & 3.73 gears if you plan to do a cam or H/C.

It's not as bad as you'd think with the right rear end ratio and a good tune.

I've driven several differentt combo's but the best for my mods was a Yank SS3600 and 3.42 rear. If you could drive a few differtent setups it'll help you get it to your likeing.

im not sure about the gears in the rear, feels like 3.15's going by speedo and tach readings. I think a SS3600 would be a good bet and a 3.42 rear will be in order.
