Suspension Roll and pitch angles???
I just got a new Beltronics Vector G meter 'toy' and I want to make sure that I have it set up correctly.
The unit defaults are 2 degrees per G in pitch and 3 of body roll per G. Seems a bit high for a Corvette. Any of you autocrossers on top of this one?
Thanks in advance.
Approximate calculated roll gradient:
FE1 (Base C5) 2.4 deg/G
Z51 1.7 deg/G
Z06 1.4 deg/G
Don't have pitch data handy.
Dont know the exact numbers but from personal experience of driving many many corvettes with different suppensions on the track, your looking at 6-8* on Base, 3-4* on ZO6 and 0-1* with T1 suppenssions.
However these are not subjective numbers and the DRIVERS skill will have more to do the pitch and roll in corners.
If your taking a 1G corner, your ears will POP and most ppl can not physically take a 1G corner, let alone have the skill to drive and have the tires to hold a 1 G corner.
In a High speed braking zone on a road racing track a 1+G braking feels like your ears POP and your stomach is coming out your nose.
that is if you have the brakes and tires to do they powerfull of stop.
Hell F1 guys have to deal with 4Gs

According to the physio in charge of some drivers there, the eyes have a tendency to pop out of their places.
Fun enough no ....
Don't know where all the rest of the guys went off to on their tangent about ears popping.
Thanks again for zeroing in on the issue.
