You will need to get a ball joint separater and a big hammer.

Take the nut loose and then you will slide it in there.. hammer it til it come apart. You will have to be careful not to tear the boot, if you are replacing it the new one will come with a new boot. The tools to do this can be had at any local autoparts store very cheap.

Hope that helps.

BlownZ06,
Thanks man...but I know how to get it seperated. What I don't know is how to get the old one out of the spindle assy. I'm use to seeing 3 bolts on the top of the ball joint that hold it in the assy. This has what looks like a pressed on cover.

You need to have a ball joint press to get it out. You can pick a set up for at a local auto store or see if your local auto zone has a free loaner set.

May I ask where you got your upper ball joints from. To my knowledge you can only but the lower ball joints (Moog). I tried to buy the uppers but could not locate a supplier. To my understanding you have to buy the entire spindle assembly to get the upper ball joint.

I have yet to locate a set, either. It appears you are correct.
