Default Not the same intake question

Hello all,

I am new here and I am looking to buy an intake for my 1999 C5. Before everyone says "use the search!" I have to say that I have spent a few hours doing so.

The thing I was unable to find is a complete system approach to creating an intake system. It seems fair to say there are five basic components to the system: the filter, air bridge, MAF, throttle body, and the intake manifold. It also seems to me that while replacing one or two of these components will work well, a carefully thought out complete system would eliminate any bottlenecks and be compatible with the head, cam, and LT header package I plan to do this winter.

My goal is to create a smooth driving street car that is very reliable, but has a bit more power and sound than stock. My ideas so far are as follows:

Hallatech filter and air bridge to start off with. I think the 100mm output of the hallatech air bridge will be a good match with a 90mm throttle body and an aftermarket MAF housing should I need to use those at a later date. I also think that the 90mm throttle body would work well with a FAST intake.

What does everyone think the optimal setup here would be, given my goals? Should I even be considering a different MAF housing, throtle body, and intake manifold?

If you going to do an H/C package, the FAST 90/90 combo wouldn't be a bad idea. It will allow that car to breathe up top as the LS6 intake seems to cut down the airflow of ported heads. The Callaway Honker eliminates the airbridge assembly and moves the MAF close to the throttle body like GM did with the C6. Makes for an easier path for the air to follow.
