Yes like the title states what method/combination of tools provides the safest way to remove your lugs without scratching them whatsoever? What tools do you use? How do you use them? I recently purchased a so called scratch free socket set from Griots Garage that was made for removing lugs and supposely didnt scratch them. Well when I get the package and open it I notice that the plastic protection is on the outside of the socket so it doesnt scratch the rims and also in the end of the socket so the tip of the lug doesnt get scratched but the actual part inside that makes contact with the sides of the lug was metal and that ended up scratching my chrome lugs Is there a socket that has a insert on the inside for the edge of the lugs so that part doesnt get scratched? I used an impact with the 19mm socket which I thaught would be fine. Please help me out
6 sided deep socket 19mm. Long 18" arm socket wrentch and a torque wrench that will go to at least 100 foot lbs.
if your worried about scratchs dont use the impact wrentch. I use an 18" handle socket wretch to brake them free then the impact wrentch to take them off and put back on, but I dont care about scratchs.
