You guys talked me into getting the Honker for my stock 02, auotmatic, stock exhaust. My question is do I need a tune afterwards.Having read the article in August 05 Vette mag. there seems quite a difference. Needless to say I'm confused.

You probably don't need one with just a honker. Some people were throwing codes they either need one or had some loose connections after the install (air leaks). Mine ran perfect after so I'm going to wait untill i have more things changed from stock (LG Headers)

Your shouldn't need to get a tune, unless it starts throwing codes. Make sure you give the PCM time to adjust to the changes. If you plan on doing more mods, wait until you have them installed, then get it tuned. If this is your only mod (like that's going to happen) then a tune , while probably not necessary , will get you some extra HP.

You don't need a tune, you will give the PCM time to reset after you unhook and rehook the battery and it will learn. make sure you tighten all clamps. Do a tune when you really add some real Modification, like H/C, TC, Headers thermo 160, UD pulley and exhaust. But if you decide to tune your car do it to make it more efficient
