Default New Rotor question

Got my new rotors and Z06 wheels on today (pics tomorrow), but I have a question or two. I followed the instructions from Sportbrakes on how to break in the rotors, and they smoked and stunk just like the instructions said they would. But now they lokk a bit ragged. Did I do something wrong? How does everyone keep their drilled/slotted rotors looking so good in their pictures? Can I clean them, and if so how? Thanks!!!

Did you use your old pads first to break in the rotors? I did that and have had no problems since... My sportsbrakes look like the day I put them on.

Yep, I used the old pads to break them in. They just look beat up now, I guess. I will try to wash the wheels tomorrow and see what they look like then... Any suggestions on how to wash the rotors?

Mine still look like new except for the pad contact area and after you drive and put wear the zink coating off the contact area they will look better.
Great rotors
