Hypertech power programmer
Hi Everyone:
I own a 2004 Z06 and am considering installing a Hypertech power programmer.
Has anyone of you done this and, if so, what was your experience?
By the way, I have installed a Halltech air intake, an after market mass air (Granatelli) and a larger diameter throttle body.
Will the Hypertech work with these mods or does the engine need to be stock?

It will work BUT....what are your long term plans as far as mods go?? Any thoughts of headers, exhaust in the near future?? The reason I ask is that I have bought and used a Hypertech and IMO..for the cost of the programmer you could get it dyno tuned for the same money and get better results. If I was you I wouldn't worry about it because you are not going to see enough of a gain to be worth it at this point.

For the cost I don't think you'll notice much difference, especially with a manual. A small gain in HP and torque. In an A4 the difference would be more noticable, but still minimal.

AlsoThe on the A4 you can change the torque managment to shift harder and give you more launching and shifting power.

Normally an air intake wouldn't negatively affect the tuning, but the change to the MAF could. I don't know that the tuning would take you much further than the mods you already have since it was developed on a stock vehicle.

When looking at the dyno chart, remember, they are using scan software to make the changes to maximize the results. Also, they added premium fuel for there test. Were they using regular gas on the test pig???
