Hi, I have a mainly stock C5 with a six speed. I've only got a vararam CAI, x-pipe, SLP MAF sensor, descreened MAF and a borla straight pipe. I was wondering if Tuning would help my cars times at the track. I dont have or know of a local tuner and the mail order is basically my option right now. I think they charge like $400 for a programmed pcm core. Is it worth it? I have used PCM for Less and Bryan Herter programmed a pcm for my 96 Impala and felt an amazing increase in performance, but I was wondering if it would be the same for my C5.
Definitely, when on site they can monitor the car and then adjust the tune. For example, if you have spark knock or another issue, especially with the new fuels, they will pick it up and adjust accordingly. I think its well worth the money.
I feel it is alot better to get a CAR tuned instead of doing a mail order(but mail order you will get gains over stock(but it will be conservative cause it cant be tuned for YOUR car))
