I would change gears and for less money you will get a faster car.

I'm understanding a gear change provides no advantage with a 6 speed car? Also, my usage is as a toy on weekends and HPDE events once a month.

Pull your pup cats and that will free up some power.
Longtubes in reality gain 20rwhp and your car sound even cooler.

I hear what you're saying, but, sound doesn't get me around the track any quicker. Cheaper ways to get "sound" if that's what you're into, not what I'm after. I appreciate the input.

Let me give this a shot but I'm not an expert in this so if I screw it up, somebody jump in an correct me.

Whether the car is auto or manual, changing to a higher gear ratio is going to be an advantage depending upon how you define "advantage". You will get off the line faster, reach max.RPM sooner at a lower speed, and have to shift into 2nd sooner. HP remains the same. RPM at a given speed will be higher than before and increase fuel consumption on road trips.

Everything is a trade off!

everything is pending how u use your car.
if your in the upper rpms often then lt's are a good thing.
helps it breathe, gets the exhaust flow up a notch.
ls motor like headers.
ls motors love the giggle juice too....
plus nothing like a wot romp with lt's and a good catback...

I have TSP headers on my 01 Z06, installed by myself for under $700.

I love them, they were worth EVERY penny. I can feel the SOTP for sure.
