you sure it's 0153? Mine threw a code of 1153. Which is o2 sensor. if it is just reset it.
Yea it's P0153 heated O2 sensor. It's a Bosch sensor. I had some trouble before. This is the second time I have had this problem. The other side is the AC delco sensor and so far it has been fine. Maybe the bosch sensors are junk.
I had the same problem after lt headers and cats. I was instructed by lg motorsports,972-429-1963, bobby, to move the rear cats to the front locations, as they are hotter and will send the correct info to the computor. Also you will need to install 02 simulators on the rear connections and convert the front connection to rear type with adapters available from lg motor. It sounds a little complicated but the only difficult part was securing the wires in their new location away from hot exhaust,. I ordered high temperature tape wrap from summitt racing, wrapped all wire and connection and added some new attachment points with zip staps. It is tight up there so take your time and secure everything well. I even added two holes in the pinch welds you will see to accomodate the zip ties. This works but it is a pain in the ***. Still it was worth it. good luck!!
Mvvette-This code indicates improper heating of the front 02 sensor on the passenger side. I had this problem after installing LTHs and finally had my tech switch the 02 sensors from side to side thinking that if I got the code for the driver's side it would mean the sensor was bad. Since the sensors were switched about 300 miles ago I have had no codes. Tells me that the drivers side sensor connection was not good. Suggest that you have connections checked and ground 105 checked.
Bill Curlee on the Forum is also a very good source for constructive solutions.
I've been running for well over a year with two codes 0133 and 0153 after I installed my Lgs. I don't have cats, and I used sims for the rear.like instructed. Doesn't seem to affect the motor, but when I finish modding, I'll get it tuned out.
Thats odd, after LT's and no Cats, I got 0134 and 0154, but I forgot to plug the O2 extensions back in, now I get an 1133, which is the heated O2 sensor code.
