diff drain seal ring?

diff drain seal ring?
So, I changed the oil and diff fluid today, and while emptying the drain pan, I found a little aluminum ring, which I'm assuming was supposed go on the drain nut for the diff fluid? 
It's not leaking, so do I drain all the new fluid just to put the ring back? Or say F it, I'll put it back on next time, as long as it doesn't leak?

If it were me I would put it back on cause I wouldnt sleep at night more worried that I would lose the damn thing 
Throw it in a bag in the glove box ,and if it doesent leak , put it back next change

Seriously guys, does the diff drain or engine oil drain have a crush ring? or maybe I should phrase it "is it supposed to?"

I just did mine last week ,it has the crush washer 
bolt is cad color ,crush was silver
Really if its not leaking after a few heat cycles , sleep easy and just put it back next change and fill
