i have two iat codes,.. P0113 and P1111 i have replaced the IAT sensor thinking that was the problem erased the codes in the DIC and the codes still appear. But when i erase the codes, the DIC says Active handling warming up, at this point the car runs horrible,.. idle is all over the place, and it will say active handling every time i start it until the check engine light is on. When that light comes on it will never say it again and everythign is back to normal. I would llike any feedback on this im up in the air with problem and i refuse to take it to gm.
Thanks guys
If the intake air temp sensor is not working, it will read -99 degress all the time. So your car wants to warm up the active handling thinking it is soooo cold. I had this problem. Wasn't the sensor, it was the wires in the harness that plugs into the sensor, they weren't making contact. Pull the end of the end of the plug that goes into the sensor apart, and make sure you are making a connection. I would bet your not.
the harness for the IAT sensor is the same on a lot of gm cars. I just cut one off a 91 pontiac 6000 and spliced it in, worked like a champ.
Happened to me a while back. GM actually sells the female connector already connected to ~10" of wire. You cut the wires and solder into your existing wires. Can't remember the part number, got it off an old post. Fixed it right up.
I did a search on this one to fix my codes P0113 and P1111. The GM part number for the connector is 12102620. It was aroung $25-$35 at the local dealers I called, but got it for $15 at the local dealer with my club discount.
