Why do you think that you have a BAD SENSOR??? As YO EL stated , the sensor is part of the hub!!
It does come apart, but you can not just get a new sensor:
In all my dealings with the wheel hub/wheel speed sensors, I have never seen one really go bad sensor wise!! The bearings go bad, but hardly ever the sensor!
Now the conectors are another story! The female pins on the connectors go bad ALL THE TIME!!!!!!
What DTC codes are you seeing to thinkthat you have a sensor issue??
I am aware the speed sensor is part of the hub. I took it to the shop and they told me the speed sensor was bad on the left front wheel. I am getting the dash lights for "ABS" and "Traction control." Using my Predator, I am not reading any DTC's. Took into a local shop and he did a read out which showed a bad speed sensor on the left front.
Using the Predator will not always show all the codes. Its best to use the built in DTC reader.
I bet you a cold one that you sensor/hub is good!! Been there paid for that!! Dealer said that the hub/sensor was definitely bad!! Yea,,RIGHT!! It wasn't!! You most likely have a bad female pin making a poor connection.
Disconnect it at the pig tail and read it with an ohm meter! If it reads 850-1350 Ohms. Then you can read the sensor output by selecting AC volts on the meter and spinning the wheel and reading the output terminals. At slow speeds the sensor only outputs millivolts. The faster you spin the wheel the more volts you will see.
You can order a new plug from the dealer. You will need ot splice it in. You can try to pry up on the little tang that is pressed down but, I dont think it will work!
You should find a pin the same size as the male pin in the plug and try to insert it into the female pins. If there isnt any grip, the female pin is bad!
