Default oil

I have never had a ls1 with as low miles as I do now... whatg oil should I use, I used mobil 1 full synthetic 10w 30 but that was a 113k camaro, what should I use in my 99frc ls1 with 13k on it?

My best guess is a 5 w 30 full syn, but I have heard of german versions of mobil one and all other kind of crazyness.

I agree. C5 Corvettes nominal oil is a 5w30 meeting GM Standard 4718M though 10w30 is allowed over 0F and 0w30 isn't addressed. The AMSOIL Series 2000 0w30 mentioned by Mike has shown very good results in wear metals on used oil analysis reports on Vettes and it does meet GM Standard 4718M.

Default Oil

Dude, Its on the filler cap! Its in the manual! Lots of people here probly have it tatted on their arms. Go spend the $40-50 and do it. Unless you plan to use it as a daily driver, You wont see the 3000 miles, where most here change their oil, in a year. Thats going to be one less thing you will have to worry about, so you can consentrate on having fun with your new toy.

?Sheesh a bit touchy or what? I wasnt being critical of you, I was just implying that if there was something better for a car such as the corvette its likely GM would have made the change by now. But as you pointed out its only been 10 years. We better give them a bit more time. But then what do I know. Apparently Im stupid.
