Default Modifications Results Question

Has anyone installed the BBK Intake manifold and 80MM throttle body on an 03. I am interested if it added any performance gains and are there any downsides due to the fact it is made of metal. I have heard they can hold heat which can cause performance losses.

Also is installing the 90MM FAST Intake of any value on a car with the LS1 engine that has not had any head and cam work.

Or am I better off sticking with my factory set up.

Current 03 set up

Blackwing
Smooth belows
High Flow Air Bridge
LG Pro Longtube Headers/High Flow Cats
Corsa Tiger Shark Cat Back

If your going to do one regardless, do the FAST. Your not going to see a huge gain yet with your mods. Bang for the buck for your combo would be a vararam. Ditch the blackwing. Also, did you get a tune after the headers?

For the money, I think you would likely get the same increase in power with a Honker or other CAI than you will with the FAST. A FAST will give you some more power, but honestly there are better ways to get the same power easier and for less money. The FAST would be a good alternative if you had more modifications.

Thanks for the information. I didn't think there was much gain with upgrading the intake manifold.

I am having the Headers installed tomorrow and I am getting a tune at the same time.

I have been lookiing at the vararam and was planning to install it after the headers to track the improvement of each mod as I go. The balckwing delivered very little if anything when I installed it. I had it dynoed rite after that and I was disappointed

What mods should I look at next. I want to increase the performance of my car to be as close to the same as the C5 Z06

Honestly, I would keep your setup, take the money you are going to apply towards the fast, get a cam and do a cam install.

Yep, I did a cam next in my sequence. Still haven't done the FAST, but am considering it.
