Recently my FOB would'nt work, so I replaced the battery; reprogrammed it & worked for a day. Unlocked the car using the key, then reprogrammed again. FOB working, then in a day or so, it no longer functions. Reprogram again... get the picture. Now i'm reprogramming daily or hourly, and it'll work for a short while then fails to fucntion.

Any ideas?
I've got plenty of ideas but the only one that works is buy a new one.
If you have a second remote try that one, if not, a new one usually solves the problem 99.9% of the time.
Welcome to the Forum and the Twilight Zone of the keyless remotes!
Thanks, and thanks. Know of any reliable sources to purchase other than GM dealers?
Check ebay, you'll pay about 40 bucks if I remember right. Just make sure the GM part numbers on the back of the fob match up. (Mine says GM: 10432147, for example.)
The FOBs have weak battery contacts. When you bump it, it loses battery contact momentarily. This forces a re-sync. Open the FOB and gently pry up the battery contacts so they put more pressure on the battery. Bet it works.
Here is something that you can try before you dump your old fob that may "still be good"!!
The main 12 VDC battery, if low/weak will start a C5 but play havoc on certain modules! Check your DTC Codes and see what codes are there. If you see tons of history codes, clear them all!! Reprogram the FOB's and when they fail again, recheck the codes. If you see a lot of U series codes, you battery may be too weak to maintain the memory functions in the BCM, IPC. When you start the car, the available battery voltage drops low. If it drops below 9 VDC, your modules will NOT be happy and shut down for a very brief period of time erasing the volatile memory's.
You can have your battery checked out at any of the local automotive stores, and sears. Make sure that they test the reserve cranking voltage capacity of the battery.
I had that same problem with an FOB I bought. Though mine would usually last a few days. Somewhere along the line it decided to work though, because I havent had to reprogram it for several months now.
Of course, now that I've said something....It will quit tonight
