Shifting problem today any suggestions?
installed an c6 z06 shifter in my 01 z06 about a month ago and every thing went fine and until today worked without a hitch. While driving today I tried to downshift from 4th and the tranny would have none of it. so i pulled over and got it out and then continued with no problem. then awhile later while parked and motor running i moved through the gear and again trouble coming out of 4th. Any chance the new shifter moved and im out of allingment or can this be something more serious?

The shifter install is pretty straight forward. Unless you messed with the LARGE nut that connects the shifter shaft to the shift rod at the back of the shifter housing, there should NOT be any issues with alignment! Was the black plastic bushing on the shift fork ball in good shape??
My Kirban has shift stops and some people have difficulty setting those correctly The stock C6 shifter does NOT have stops!
I was having UP Shift issues with my 98 and I changed the tyranny fluid to Mobile 1 Synthetic ATF! Wow,,,,,,,,what a difference!! It was like night and day.
