It seems both my headlights are sticking. I will turn the thing on the lever to turn them on, and sometimes they stay down. I have to turn it back to the off position, and try again. It's something that just started, and the car has 32K on it. Any ideas?
If it's both headlights acting symmetrically, then I'd say the problem is in the switch (not sure, but I think there's a separate relay per headlight). OTOH, if I'm wrong on the relay, then that's where I'd look first.
Just had the same problem with both Headlights staying in the down position when you turn the headlamp switch on. I traced it back to the headlight switch in the steering column. I found that if I would move the steering wheel in the complete down position using the tilt wheel lever then turn the headlight switch on the headlights would pop up and work. For me it was definately the headlight/cruise control lever in the steering column. Not to bad of a job to change but just make sure you disconnect the air bags properly as described in the repair manuals. Part cost about $120. Hope this helped you.
