Default Need a little help with an electrical issue

First noticed left window would not go up. Shut car down and it started working. Following day left window again would not work either would any of the switches on the left door. Tried the right door switches they would not work. Driving home dash lights up and radio goes off. Tach, MPH, and voltmeter are the only instruments working. All messages were flashing ,low fuel TCS, etc. Voltmeter reading 14 volts. Continued driving everything came back on as I drove into the garage. Checked battery with a volt meter eng off 12.5 volts, Engine on 14 volts checked battery connections and grounds good. Had numerous codes some indicating loss of battery. I cleared all the old codes. This is a 2000 corvette never had any problems. Has a red top please step in with ideas.

Well it woulda helped to know what those codes were. If you wrote them down, please post them here. In the mean time, remove, clean and reconnect your battery terminals. Then you might want to pursue the Ground Cleaning Ritual as described in Bill Curlee's sticky. I would begin with G104 - that's the one inboard of the battery box with the shroud tab on it. Good Luck!

Sounds like you have more than one issue. The first that i would look at, is the one that caused the dash to spaz out! Most of the time, that is caused by water/ moisture in the passengers foot well. If the BCM (big silver box) gets wet/damp, the circuit board inside the box (its NOT conformal coated) shorts out and causes the dash to go into fits! Once it drys off enough that it is no longer shorting out the circuits, everything is fine again. I would check you passengers side carpets and the just under layment under the carpets to see if there wet. Just feeling the top of the carpet just wont do it! If your car was recently in a lot of rain, i would bet you a cold one that moisture is your issue!

As for the windows,, the main door wiring harnesses are known to have bad connections. Grab the rubber accordion tube that connects the door to the the body and feel the cable harnesses inside the accordion tube/harness. While your pressing on the up or down button for the window, shake the drivers side cable harnesses in rubber accordion tube and some times it will make the whole system (passengers side and drivers side) You can try to shake both.

If the shake thing works, its only a temp repair and you need to examine the connectors before it stops completely!

Please let me know how all this works out for you.
