Default Help Dtc po118!!!! after header change

Hey guys my car is giving me the dtc po118 which means Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor Circuit High Voltage. Does this mean the sensor is bad? heres what we did. Headers, spark plugs/ignition wires, took alternator and serpentine belt off. The engine temp for my car says its over 260 degrees but thAT WAS about 3 minutes after i started the car and idled it.

Is my car really overheating?

There is some type of temperature sensor on the front drivers-side of the head/block...just by the alternator. I have heard that this is a common victim of getting banged/busted during header work. I know I almost whacked mine doing the install. Maybe that is it, busted or not fully connected?

Here's a quote from and old install thread:

It's best to remove the coolant temperature sensor at the exhaust face at the front of the driver's head, as some have broken their's off getting the header in place. You can use a small piece of rag with 1/4" bolt to seal off the hole, or with the left side jacked up, very little coolant will spill out.
