Try the GM10-AUX adapter. Since you already have the harness running to the trunk. Add the box and then add any MP3 player you want. I use my 4gb nano. I love it the, the sound quality is awesome and the box can be had for around $45. Plug and play install.
i have the same set up, 99 coupe with 12 cd....and would like to add mp3 , nano ....easy to do yourself? other possible problems , complications.....is nano upfront? I understand the adapter part, but add what box?
Yes the Nano is up front. I actually made my own car dock, out of the dock adapter they give you with the nano. I ran all the wires behind the passanger seat and up through the console into the cupholder.
How does that harness/box get installed? Do you plug the GM AUX 10 into the Trunk mounted CD player or to the Radio head ? I am thinking that you disconnect the harness from the CD Deck in the trunk and plug in the new GM AUX 10 and run it up front ..then plug in your MP3 .. ?? Do have any photos.. Much appreciate the details Thx JCR
The auxbox plugs into the cd changer's harness. Then the rca jacks get plugged into the nano. All plug and play, not cutting, no nothing. The length on the rca jacks depends on where to want the nano to be.
You will have to use the nano's controls. The radio thinks the changer is there and is always on Disc 1 Track 1.
I do not have any pictures as of yet. I have mine set up so it sits in the cup holder. I keep it on shuffle and can hit the controls on the nano at anytime to change it.
