Default What catback to use?

I've got a ZO6 with stock ti system and was wondering for the power, weight, and price who has the best system? Should I save my $ and put it towards X-pipe and headers? Please PM any thoughts.

At a very reasonable price of $free.99 I'd say the answer to your 1st question is: You do!
So the answer to your 2nd question would be: Yes!

I just love being helpful!

IMHO - On a C5, buy a cat-back for sound, not power. The regular C5 cat-back is very efficient, and the 02 and up Z06 even more so. In fact, the Z06 Ti system is very popular with LT headers, as some of the other systems get very loud, and some pick up a droning resonance.

I had LT headers installed on my C5 by LG Motorsports. I had the stock cat-back at the time. The LG tech told me a good cat-back might pick up anoher 5 hp. At $700-1000, that is not much bang for the buck. Of course, being the mod-happy guy that I am, I got a set of GHL Bullets. The sound is great, but at times, is a little loud (I guess I'm getting old) and there is some resonance from 1300-1500 rpm.

In your case, save up for some long tubes (most of the good systems come with their own x-pipe,) and try it with the Z06 Ti system. If you absolutely want more noise, then start looking for a cat-back. As for brand, it's like asking what's your favorite color? You'll get a different answer from everybody. Sell your stock system to one of us old guys.

If you're all about best for the money, Keep what you have because the Z06 Ti exhaust is awesome. If you want louder then all the Stainless Steel cat-backs are good. IT's all a matter of what kind of sound you want and how much of it you want.

I've got the Borla Stinger Quad tip on my car and i like it a lot. But i like louder exhausts. If i werent into loud perse' my first choice would be the Z06 Titanium.

As far as Cat Back goes, you have a very desireable system on the Z06. A lot of the guys with coupes are always looking to buy a set of Z06 titanium cat backs. As far as horsepower goes.... You may see a couple of horsepower gain at the most.. Save your money for a good set of Headers. If you like a deeper louder sound you might consider the Borla Stingers (thats what I have and I love them). The stingers are too loud for a lot of people and have a drone at around 1800rpm. I don't notice it really, but thats me. The stingers run around $800.00. Spend a little more and go for the headers. The system will also be louder with a Header install, with your stock cat backs. You can expect 25 rwhp with headers, maybe even more.. Cat Backs will get you about 3-5 horsepower at the most

I would do the headers, etc., you can always change the backend of the exhasut system.

Yes definitely just get headers and you will love the sound of the car. If not then you can change to a different catback. I have corsa touring (which is a hair louder than ti's) with LT"s and a cam and it sounds beastly getting on the car, but pretty quiet considering the cam and LT's. If you want louder than go Borla or BB's.
