How do you unlock the steering?
Well its happened again. The steering on my 98 has locked up and this time I can't unlock it. This has happened before and all I had to do was disconnect the battery, but this time that wont do the trick. Is there any other way to unlock it? Any advice would be appreciated. Also should I look forward to this on my 01 z06?

Also turn the steering wheel with some force to the left and/or right while turning the key to start the car. Best of luck to you. Other option is to order the Column Lock Bypass. I put on mine about two weeks ago no problems since.

Thanks for the tip. Pulling fuse 29 did the trick. Now I dont have to deal with some yahoo flat bed driver who would most likely tear my front end to heck.
Do you think I should take it to the dealer or just get the bypass kit and forget about it? Oh yeah, where can I get the bypass kit? Thanks again!
