Default Radiator stop-leak

I'm heading to the forum cruise on Wednesday and I discovered a small leak in the radiator. Is there a stop leak that will work in the LS1 without hurting the t-stat and waterpump? I hate to rig things, but I don't have time to fix it.

I threw a lot of of money at a leak problem on my daughter's car, which didn't solve it. As a last resort I tried a bottle of Bar's Leaks heavy duty (the traditional brown stuff) and the leak closed right up. No problems with the heater core or anything. It's holding tight after a couple thousand miles.

I wouldn't use any kind of stop leak. But this is me.

Bars makes a product available in auto stores or thru GM it is a natural product made from some kind of plant material. It is approved by GM for use as a regular additive. This product was developed for the early '80s Cadillacs with Aluminum cylinder head problems. Supposed to work without clogging any passages. I have used it and it does work.

Thanks, Guys. I've got the Bars stuff on the shelf at home. I think I had a heater core issue one time with a daily driver and it worked on it.

It has Plant Material on the label.

I've read on the Cadillac Forum that Bars makes the coolant supplement for GM engines and packages it with GM/Goodwrench labeling if you get it over-the-counter at a steelership. It is required for the Northstar V8 to prevent coolant from passing through the block into the crankcase. Apparantly the LS1 aluminum block does not have this problem. The major ingedient of this specific Bars product is ginger root.

I used the leak stop you mentioned and it stoped the leak and lead me to major problems...New Radiator a Month Later.
Guys at the radiator shop shook their heads and said there should be a law against selling it. Just their opinion. If you were in a jam and it got you home, then Ok.
