What is wrong with my clutch???
#1. When I do a hard shift into 3rd or 4th gear the RPMs seem to take a while to drop, it almost feels like the clutch isn't grabbing. The engine will wind out for second, then it will slowly go into the next gear. But, my 1-2 shift still feels solid and can burn rubber. Does this mean my clutch is going?
#2. This just happened today, and is reallly strange. I'll do my best to explain what happened. Sitting at a stop sign, with the clutch depressed, I heard a click, amost felt like a spring let loose in the clutch pedal. Then, from that point on, the clutch is much harder to push down. What the hell happened to me!?
I would be very appreciative of any help anybody could provide.

Here's what my 2k does: after a couple of burnouts the clutch slips. I took it to a test & tune session at the strip and I couldn't get a decent run because of the clutch slipping. I have no problems on a road course.
here is what i've read. June issue of Chevy high performance had a story about how Steve Cole found that GM put a restrictor in the clutch hydrolic slave line to prevent stress on the drive train.
when fluid builds up at the restrictor the clutch waits to engage...causing it to slip. unfortunately in the C5, unlike the Camaro/Firebird LS1's, the restrictor is next to a 90 degree bend and very difficult to drill out.

#1 might be related to #2 if #2 is a problem with the slave cylinder. There is a spring on the throw out bearing which is part of the slave cylinder. I wonder if you throw out bearing is sliding back and forth easily or is it getting stuck making it hard to push down and not releasing all the way making the clutch slip. Just an idea.
Sounds like clutch time.
Steve, I have 23,000 miles on the car, and am still using the original clutch. And yeah, I think you're right, it's probably almost new clutch time. Hmmm, maybe I can get a 2002 Z06 clutch put in before the next challenge.
With all the drag racing, hard street driving, and stop and go traffic, I've probably just taken the original clutch to the limit.Anybody know where I can get a 2002 Z06 clutch cheap?
Thanks again.
