Default Another C5 Exhaust Related Question.....Important

I have had on Corsa Indy's for almost five years and absolutely love them. Recently I have upgraded to a Kooks 1 7/8" off road headers system with no cats & 3.90 gears on my A4. Though I love the fact that the Corsa system has little to no resonance, my car has become very loud. On top of this I can't seem to get the drivers' side muffler clear of the exhaust shield. There is a minute bit of play which causes a tinny vibration as the exhaust makes contact with the shield as it moves ever so slightly when the car is on. On top of this my tuner tells me that a baffle has broken loose in one muffler, necessitating a change. Is there a better/similar system out there that I should be considering or should I just call on the Corsa lifetime warranty to replace the muffler. While I don't mind a slightly less noisy system, I certainly do not want to give up the minimal backpressure (more HP) and zero resonance. I am also aware that there is a Corsa bashing thread going on in the general section but I'm looking for additional opinions specific to my particular setup. Thanks for listening to me rant.

A lot of people switch to Z06TI exhaust after putting on headers. That's how I got my Corsa exhaust. Someone put headers on their car and it got too loud. So we swapped my Z06TIs for his Corsas.

I was considering this as well. Is there any resonance issues with the Ti's as compared to the Corsa's? Any loss of HP, though minimal?

There's no resonance with the Stock Ti. It not only flows very well, it's much lighter than your Corsa; assuming it's not the Ti version.

It's the absence of cats that increases the volume, not so much the headers. I've had the baffle issue in both cans. My experience with Corsa was great on both occasions. The Z06 option is a good one but it's going to be louder than it was with cats.

I understand that it is not going to become quiet overnight but I'm leaning towards a pre-owned set of Corsa Tourings or Z06 Ti's. Anybody know of a good source to purchase either for a good price?

I just took the Ti's off my car, they are in great shape, I don't have pics as of now, I can shoot some if you're interested, I will be posting them for sale soon if you don't want them, but they will be a pick up only, $400. You can PM me if you are interested, or give me a call at 203 509 0154! Thanks, Dan

Thanks but I would need shipping to 17701. How many miles on them anyway and how much are they new from Fred Beans? Is there a performance dropoff when going from these to an aftermarket setup?

I don't knopw the exact price new but I know you wouldn't want to pay it, it's like $1,200 or $1,800, I forget which one, but you can usually pick a set up here from $400 to $450. I figured you're in New York so that wouldn't be a bad ride. There is right around 10,000 miles on these I believe. They came of my buddies z06 and I only put about 1000 miles on them myself but I will have to call and ask him what the miles were on his car before he switched them out. Thanks, Dan
