Any info or speculation would be great! I am guessing it is the Callaway but I would like some confirmation before I buy

thanks!

Hi, Pete.
1.) Sound
The Callaway Double-D is slightly louder than stock C5 at idle and at cruise. It's significantly louder than stock at wide open throttle. During cruise conditions, there is zero resonance or "drone". During deceleration, there is no popping as with some of the others mentioned here. It general, the Callaway sound has more bass than treble. The "motorboat" staccato present in some of the other systems was engineered out of the Callaway system.

2.) Power
Since the Callaway system wasn't introduced until 2003, our engineers had the luxury of being able to record the flow characteristics of all the other popular brands for C5's, as well as the OEM titanium Z06 system. They designed the Callaway system to provide less back pressure than the other systems, over 70% less back pressure than the titanium Z06 system. I've attached a graph illustrating the difference below. (Competitor A was one of the brands typical of the aftermarket systems.)

I have the Corsa Touring exhaust. It is not objectionably loud but sounds much better than stock and it flows mega CFM with a straight through design. It has a powerful sound and at wide open throttle or just mild acceleration, it really comes alive.

This is the only cat back mod I have had so can't offer a comparison. There is never any drone which I understand can be real annoying.

Car has LT headers, CAI, Hi-flow cats and x-pipe.

I would buy another Corsa and probably go with the Pace Car next time.
