Default C5 and C6Z

im getting ready to do my H/C setup on my '02 C5 6spd utilizing a FAST 90/90, G5X3 on a 112 and ETP 215 heads along with the supporting boltons (tune,LG LTs, and U/D Pulley and stock 3.42s). Im shooting for 470rwhp-480rwhp.... My buddy has a stock '06 C6 Z06 and he wants to run me after i swap my heads, from a stop and from a 60 roll......how do you think i'll do?

Default C5 C6z06

Probably be a drivers race. Some of the new Zs are putting down more than the advertised 505 crank hp(430rwhp). The horse power will be pretty close and they weight less than you do. Sticky tires and a clean run, you might edge him.

It will be close I have seen the c6 z06 dyno around 450-470 to the rear wheels. But it will have quite a bite of more torque and will weigh a little less. it will also have very long gears so it will be tough to keep up with on the freeway as he will probable be 1 gear in front of you at all times ( He will be pulling in 3rd gear all the way up to 150 and you will have to go to 4th by 130)

Good luck

im currently in the process of waiting for all my parts to come in...im hoping for 480 to the rear, but we'll see once all said and done....i was trying to get a heads up before i actually ran him.

hmmmm....i may have to switch to my plan B.......which is procharger d1sc pullied for 10psi, but cam and LTs boost loss should put me at 4-5psi. @ 4-5psi, that should net me 500 - 510rwhp.....
my parts are on order for the H/C, but i still have an extremely minimum amount of time cancel.

Dont get a such overlapping cam too bleed off the boost. Do it right the first time, u can always put a diff pully on to lower the boost.

You should win by a good margin from a stop and I suspect it will be close from a roll. Apparently the TM of the new Z is greatly affecting their performance especially on hard launches from a dig. If you both run with stickier tires than stock it shouldn't be close.
A car with 470-480 rwhp on drag radials can likley run 10.6x's in good air/track, and the C6Z with great driving and dr's will have a hard time breaking into the 10's. Keep in mind we're comparing stock to modified.
