My windshield washer squirter on the drivers side drools water at speeds over 100mph. Is this common? Is there a fix or is it one of those things you just have to put up with?
I had the same problem on both my '99 and '01. The dealer solved the problem by replacing a valve in the system; however, they could have just lowered the fluid level in conjunction with the "fix". Anyway, lowering the fluid level seems to be the quick fix for this problem.

jeffh355,
There IS a fix for this common problem. It involves using a Ford check valve in the washer line. I don't think I have the part # any longer, however I will check and if I find it then I'll be back with a post.
Meanwhile, I'm sure that Bruce or someone has the # and will post it.

Windshield Washer Check Valve
The squirt on hard acceleration got to be old. There was a post here about using the check valve from Ford to cure it. It works very nicely! Get Windshield Wiper Fluid Check Valves (1 package = 2 valves) from Ford Motor Co.- #F8CZ-17A614-AA - $4.08 - any dealer will have it. Remove wiper arms (13 mm bolts under the snap off caps, then wiggle and pull), cut the washer þuid tube under the blade assembly just before it splits to the 2 output nozzles, and install the valve (1 each side) with the check ball pointing towards the pump - i.e. away from the outlets, and press Þt the thing back under the wiper arm prior to re-install. Nasty Ford part is invisible, and hammering the car = dry windshield. No big deal, I was just tired of cleaning up the solvent residue from the stuff. One note from the service manual that was useful: before removing the wiper assemblies, turn the ignition to “accessory,” turn wipers to slow intermittent, and turn off ignition when they are down (at end of cycle but not parked all the way down on the stops where they go to when you turn them off). Then use a piece of masking tape on windshield on both sides to mark their position so that the reinstall is properly aligned.
Yeah, I wish everything that I have done to this car were that simple! Check out my post on the LapTrax gadget - that one damn near sent me to the chiropracter!
Anyhow, just go by the Ford dealer - they will have the things, and also have the pleasure of giving you a ration about your car not having this advanced Ford type of feature!
