If you're going to the trouble of removing your exhaust manifolds, get some headers instead of extrudehoning. And injectors? they're delicate precision meters that would be F'd up big time with that process. You probably misunderstood.

Alot of stock car racers extrude hone the manifolds. They do it because in most classes headers aren't allowed and it gives a little edge. I agree with ZeeVette, just get some headers. You'll get more performance for your buck, especially if you eventually do more mods. That's where the headers will pay off over the ported manifolds.

As far as the injectors, I've heard of having them balanced, but not extrude honed. That's new to me. If you're seriously thinking about that, I'd research that a little more. Just my .02, and you get what you pay for!

i agree. about the injectors. but on the web site they did a diesel trucks injectors, there was a 250 hp difference. about the manifolds you can save seven lbs a side, plus gain 30 percent more flow after the process. i've used it several times on circle track cars, thats where the process really shines! but if a guy has to meet emissions, could be advantage for him, to extrudehone the manifolds. i would have them HP coated at the same time.

I'm sure you have seen the difference between diesel injectors and regular automotive gas injectors(?) If not, diesel truck injectors are about 4 times the size and I *think* have a slightly different architecture to them. Maybe thats why they can do a diesel truck injectors....I'd think a car injector would be toast

I've been doing inj work for 10 yrs, and that idea is also news to me,
As for the "balancing" part:
If a set is out of "balance", as in different flow volumes, spray patterns, the way to correct this is to have additional injectors available, and swap them around, until the set is within 2%, or less.

Extrude honing injectors is ???
Diesel inj's are, in some cases, made so they can be disassembled. Perhaps that's how the process is carried out.
