I have an '01 Z06. The car has front damage on it from an accident. The car still runs and drives perfect. Yesterday, I unplugged the MAF to get it out of the way while I was removing some damaged pieces from under the hood. I started the car to move it without plugging the MAF back in. I got the usual Reduced Engine Power on the dash but when I shut off the car and tried to start it again later it will not start. The IPC reads NO COMM on the pcm reading in diagnostics. The car will send fuel up to the engine and it will fire long enough to burn that fuel I guess and then shut off immediately. What do I need to do from here? HELP!!
That is a funky problem and the solution may be simple or a combo of issues from the accident that finally showed up.
With a "No Comm" error message, I would check harness connections to the PCM first and check grounds that may have been damaged in the area.
Only other suggestion I have is to disconnect the battery for 30 minutes and try to restart after that. Just a longshot, but that is what I'd try before having a professional look at it.
