Exhaust Pipes
I took my car the shop the other day to check out my irritating exhaust rattle ( sounds like a washer is jumping around in the exhaust pipe) The shop owner told me he thinks the "dual walled" exhaust pipes are broken out on the inside of the pipe.
Does the C5 (1998) have dual walled exhaust pipes? If so has anyone had this happen to them? I'd hate to spend a lot of cash on a new exhaust system and still have the very loud rattle.
Any comments?

Thats a new one on me. I don't understand how you can have "dual walled" pipe. It sounds like you have a sheild rattling or a broken hanger. Try another shop, or get it on a rack and listen to it yourself.

I had it up in the air but I didn't see anything except for broken cat supports. Looks like this:
I'm not totally convinced that the exhaust pipe is broken. It only happens when I'm in Drive (automatic) and I am accelerating (slowly or WOT).
The sound goes away totally at cruise (any speed) and if I blip the throttle in neutral.
Anyone have cracks in these cat supports?
