read the column lock sticky,need help!
My car is a 98 m6 c5 and the recall was done 3 years ago.It left me stranded tonight and I would like to install a clb but the column is locked and I am not sure what to do with the recall harness etc.Please help as the car is now sitting in my driveway blocking the wifes car.lol.Thanks.JER

First thing to do is get he column unlocked. Make sure your battery is fully charged. Then if it still won't unlock, there are several tricks folks have used to get their column to unlock such as jerking violently on the steering wheel, rapping the column lock motor assembly a couple times with a rubber mallet, etc. Read the sticky for details. Once you get it unlocked, unplug your harness assembly while it's unlocked and install a CLB. Until you get the column to unlock you're facing a tow to the dealer if you are unsuccessful.
