Default Vin.... Optons???

Greetings forum,
What do I search for in this forum to tell me what the options on my 97 coupe are. I was told that they are related to the VIN.
Thanks in advance.

I'm not aware of any list or sites, but know of at least one person that could help you out. SpongeVette can run a service history on your car that, if I remember correcly, also lists delivery options. You might want to try sending him a PM.

Good luck.

There should be an RPO sheet on your glove box lid or console lid or on the underside of the cover on the driver's side rear storage compartment. It will list codes for all your options. Do a search on RPO Codes on this forum and you will find a listing of all codes and what they represent.

Cheers

Look for your car's Service Parts Identification (RPO) Label. For your '97 and earlier model years, the label is on the underneath side of one of the rear storage compartment lids (usually the left side, I believe.). For later model years, the RPO label is on the inside of the glove box lid. This label will show all the RPO codes for your car as it was delivered from the factory. The following link contains one of the most comprehensive lists of C5 RPO Codes that I've found and should help you determine what they mean:

Default Get Your Build Sheet

You can also go online to the National Corvette Museum website and using your VIN # purchase a copy of the original build sheet for your car... (along with a copy of the window sticker... )
https://store.corvettemuseum.com/ser...buildsheet.asp

A laminated copy of the build sheet for a non-member is only $45... of course that's a great excuse to join the NCM and then go hog wild ordering extra copies of the build sheet, window sticker, all laminated of course and save a bundle... It also beats spending a day disassembling the front bumper to retrieve the one stuffed in the bumper support... and of course hoping it's still in good shape...

Good luck... GUSTO

With the VIN, a dealer or the NCM can check their computer, like Spongevette, and give you a list of your options. Just by looking at the VIN, though, the only thing you can tell is if its a vert, coupe, FRC (3,2, or 1 in 6th digit), or if its got an LS6 or LS1 (S or G in 8th digit). The rest is just year, plant, model (Y), and serial number.
