I have a large amount of engine heat around my feet when the top is down. Engine heat not present when Top is up..... Anybody else have this problem?? Thanks...
The heat is radiated from the torque tube tunnel as the exhaust is right below it. It is probably more noticible with the top down because the breeze cools off your upper body somewhat but does nothing for your feet.
I installed a thicker chasis stiffener plate that replaces the stock one that covers the bottom of the torque tube and it made the effect less noticible.

I added the Elite plate and the problem is gone. Tested it in Nevada a few weeks ago at 102 degrees - big difference with the new plate. See Elite's page for a spread sheet on the temperature differences each of the various plates makes to the interior.
Thanks gang.........I was thinking it was motor heat being drawn throught the firewall from a vaccuum caused by the top being down........glad to hear that the thicker plate fixes the problem. Thanks again ......... Andy
