TTS, aka Steve Cole, just put an LS1 into a Chevy S-10. It was in a Sport Truck magazine of some sort. But anway, he got the S-10's instrument panel, etc to use the LS1 PCM and sensors, it was pretty trick. I wish I had the mag here, I'd tell you the name of it. You could ask Steve where he picked it up but more importantly he'd be the number one person on my list to call about getting help on putting the motor in! I'll try to find that magazine article, it had pics and all!
The Sept. 2001 issue of Sport Truck mag. shows how Steve Cole put a 5.3 L LS-1 engine from a '99 F-car into a GMC Sonoma Extended Cab. He used the wiring harness and ECU from the F-car and mated it with the Sonoma's accessory wiring harness. Steve also used the transmission from the F-car. He used the A/C compressor, alternator, power steering, and smog pumps, belts, and brackets from a Corvette. The year of Corvette was not mentioned.
The article claims 430 HP and a 12.34 quarter at 113 MPH.
I have a Blazer Extreme that an LS-1 would look good in
