Default How to?? ( raptor shift light )

Just bought a Raptor shift light. Anyone running this brand on the C5? I searched and came up empty. I plan on putting it behind the small vent/cover to the right of the steering wheel. I hope it is bright enough to shine through the slots.
I do not know where to hook up the tach signal. Also where would I run the ground and power to? I will check the website for instructions. I posted here in hope to find some good tips.
Thanks, Steve

The Raptor is definitely bright enough. I have mine set on my a-pillar. Can't help on the install as mine was installed by a race shop.

Hey thats a GREAT link for a light install. I'm adding one also but haven't run the tach wire yet. On that link it tells what pin you want to tap for signal - it's Pin 10 on the PCM plug.

Again, Thanks for the link...

you can either tap the PCM or try from under the dash. I think there are 3 white wires that run under the dash and one of them is the tach.

I decided to run mine outside to the PCM. You just need to buy extra wire and figure out how to get it from outside to inside, but it is not hard.

the power I get right from the auxilary power source at the fuse box.

You guys should try to use the search feature again later because I think it is down at the moment. I just tried several different search words and got no results.

Thanks!! I am diving in tonight on the harness. Is that fixture you built made of aluminum and anodized? It looks like billet and plastic. it turned out nice!! I am mounting mine behind the vent to the left of the key.
I will post a lit pic if I get it working.

The A/F gauge bezel is custom and is made of anodized aluminum. The shift light holder is machined out of black delrin (plastic).

Patches, how do you like your PLX? Do you use it with HP or EFI? If so is it only a one wire hook up? I am about to order one since my
LC-1 is a POS.

I tapped the tach signal for my Raptor from under the dash, and couldn't be happier. Took about 30 minutes to wire and install on the pillar.

PLX works great with EFI-Live. I have HPT but have never logged with the PLX. As far as installation, it's a bit easier overall than the LC-1. I helped a buddy hook his up last year and it took both of us to figure out the wiring. My PLX was straightfoward and worked perfectly from the start. Here's the web page of my installation.

Thanks guys!
I tapped on the drivers side with no problems. My bone colored wire was not the tach wire. It was one of the white wires in the same bundle. Anyway its working. I set it at 2500 and the tach showed around 3500 when the light flashed. If I shift at 6500 what do you guys think I should set the raptor at?
Thanks

The stock tach is not as accurate as the Raptor. EFI-Live agrees closely with my Raptor but less so with my tach gauge. Set the Raptor where you truly want to shift at.

The two shouldn't be off that far. Double check your dip switches and the ground wire.

My tach may lag/lead my shift light by a few hundred RPMs, but not a thousand.
