Is it an advantage to add a smooth coupling in place of the stock bellows style? A buddy of mine read that the stock bellows is good for up to 500 H.P. which my relatively stock C5 (Mods = intake and Exhaust) does not approach. Is the change to the smooth coupling worthwhile?
It pops off? It actually pulls away from the MAF? By under load, do you mean at wide open throttle?
They do have a tendancy to pop off when F/I is involved (like in EG's case). I'm not aware of relatively stock cars experiencing this problem, but I may be wrong.
While participating in a West Coast Corvette Chellange, I noticed that I had come disconnnected. I put it back on and every time I would do a burnout and close the throttle quickly, it would blow back off. Immediate fix was duct tape. I zip-tied that puppy on when I got home. No problem since then.
