Cooling System Refill
Chev. blocks have never required venting when refilling the cooling system that I can remember. But, the vet is unique in all other ways, I was wondering if there are any tricks to refilling the cooling system. Do not want to overheat the heads with a air pocket, did that once on a foreign car. Thanks for the input.

To vent the cooling system when re-filling, pull off one of the small hoses that are used to warm up the throttle body. As you pour coolant into the system, air will be vented. When coolant starts to come out, simply reconnect. A rag under the break keeps the engine a little cleaner. I found you still can't get all the coolant that is supposed to go back into the system, so I fill up the overflow resevoir. After a couple days of temperature cycling, the level stabilizes as coolant is drawn into the main part of the system.
