Fuel Milage Drop Question
Well,guys, i finally got the LS6 engine in and running....04 LS6 with ported heads,Comp cam that is only slightly more lift and dur. than stock Z06 cam,SLP LT headers, Spec 3 clutch, etc....Dyno,ed at 420.4 rwhp and 389.0 rwtq with custom tune.....car USED to get 26-30 mpg and now DIC is showing 14-18 mpg!!! I have read some guys only dropping 3-4 mpg with h/c/h swap.....What are you getting with your h/c motor??? Oh, have the stock 3:42 rear.....TIA Lou

People get 30 MPG in 6th cruising down the interstate....I got 32 MPG when I was stock coming back from FL once.
After I did heads, cam, long tubes, etc my average was around 17-18. Highway average was about 27 MPG. With the new 402 with real aggressive cam and 3.90 gears the average is down to about 15.
My only real cruise on the interstate with the new motor showed almost 23 MPG.

Yeah,OK, Tbone......Thanks, I also got 32 stock..26-27 around town...LS1.... update...filled up this morning, reset the DIC and drove about 90 miles, about 40 of that in 6th gear....now showing about 24....AM ALOT HAPPIER!!!......Lou

I went from an avg of 25-28 stock to about 19-21 on freeway with H/C LT's Injectors and some other goodies. Stock around town was about 17-19 and modded it is down to about 12-15.
