On my 97 with Vararam and Dynotech Lts, and Borla straight pipes I gained 47RWHP and 52RWTQ
Dynotechs are pretty much same headers setup as the LG just without a 3 inch merge connector.
and KOOKS by the way are not 100$ stainless Steel..... only the primary tubes are SS the rest of the system is ALUMINIZED STEEL fo some sort.......
I never heard a Problem with DYNOTECH headers, FIT, FINISH, QUALITY is second to none. And Dynotech make headers for a lot of applications not just a C5/C6.
I went though this same thought process about 3 months ago. I went with the LG Street Series (header, x-pipe, and high flow cat). If you are at all on a budget, I don't think this set up could be beat. The headers are stainless. The kit added 30RWHP to my Z06 and was under $1300 shipped to my door.
If you don't mind my asking, where did you locate such a good deal?
Must admit, those numbers posted for American Racing and Dynatech are very impressive.
LG has a special right now on the Street Series with cats under $1,200.00 shipped to your door. Great deal, but you have until July 4, 2006. They have it posted in one of these sections...
If the longtubes have the same size primaries and collectors and are both coated or both uncoated will perform the same. Buying Brand A or Brand B will not matter in the performance dept. What you should be concerned about is ease of install, thickness of the flanges, how well others have said they will last. (Note: just becuase somebody said "oh they haven't rusted on my car for x amount of years" doesn't mean they will last that long for your application.) You need to pay attention to your climate vs theirs. Ceramic coated longtubes in the climate I am in only last a little over a year before they start to flake and rust. Where as in AZ they will last significantly longer.
