How much will exhaust change help?
I am ready to change my exhaust,and initially all I was going to change is the rear section of the exhaust. I was just going to eliminate the mufflers,and put on straight pipes. The guys at the muffler shop said I would not see much of any HP gains. He also said that C5's don't sound good with straight pipes and I should go with a set of what looked to me like mini glass packs. What do you think?

If the OP is looking for loud (since he wanted straight pipes) i'd reccomend B&B Bullets, they have a SMALL resonator, but other than that, mostly just open pipe. NTM They look really good, and are pretty cheap (cause theres not much to 'em ... 
)
I've got Bullets, and they're nice, you'll like em. Plus if you ever throw on LT Headers or a nasty cam, you'll feel the change in your gut... mua ha ha.

BTW, I looked at just eleminating the mufflers and running straight pipe (Cats being the only dampener) and the guy i was going to have do it, said he's done this before and it sounds like crap. He said it just didn't sound right, so i opted for the Bullets)

Thanks for the input! It sounds like I need to get the B&B and some headers!
BTW do you know if LS1 headers off of an 02 TA will fit my 00 FRC? Or are the F-body headers going to be shaped wrong? B/C I can pick a set up dirt cheap from a buddy.

also have LTs, High flow cats, 3" pipe.
Use to have GHL Bullets, then I put on the straight pipes. There was a little gain and it was noticble. I did not meause the difference.
The guy who sold them too me sent me the before and after dyno chats. Showed a 7 hp increase with the straights over what he had before.

i like a loud car but i dont think you will like the s.p.'s. the B&B's are loud but have an exotic tuned sound to them. makes the car sound nice and mean. i love mine.
