Default Wheel Offsets

I'm sure this info is here somewhere but havent found yet. Anyhoo

I am Looking at getting some new motorsport Black Z06 style wheels and want to make sure I get the right offset for which ever width I decide on. Still not sure if I will keep stock C5 sizes or go wider for bigger tires.

What is the proper offset for front and rear wheels in the following sizes to fit 02 Coupe.

Front 17x8.5
Rear 18x9.5

Front 17x9.5
Rear 18x10.5

Thanks

Phil

These are the offsets of the stock C5 and Z06 wheels:

C5:

Front 17x8.5 - 58mm
Rear 18x9.5 - 65mm

Z06:

Front 17x9.5 - 54mm
Rear 18x10.5 - 58mm

Will a Z06 will fit on a regular C5? Would it need spacers?

Thanks!

Yes they will fit fine without spacers.

The Offset is different to allow for the 1" wider rims and bigger tires.

Actually, not really.

If the offset difference compensated for the additional width, the Z wheels would have more offset.

The stock C5 wheels are way tucked into the fenders. I think this was originally done for airflow/drag characteristics, and possibly mileage improvements.
The Z wheels are pushed out (added width PLUS the less offset), and the outside of the wheel fits about flush with the fenders. Aesthetically, the fit is perfect.

Even if you are sticking to the narrower C5 wheel widths, you can definitely reduce the offsets to have the wheels better fit the car, appearance-wise. An 18x9.5 wheel would fit and look just fine on the rear with even a 50mm offset.

And yes, there is no difference between the C5 and Z06 that would affect wheel fitment....whatever fits a Z, fits a C5 identically.
