Not sure this is your typical rocking seat issue though. All of the rocking seat threads I've seen have been an issue of front to back rocking. My seat however, will ROCK and I mean tilt to the back by a little bit with gas, and then forward with brakes. Probably about 1/4 to 3/4 of an inch, but it's enough to annoy the p*ss out of me when driving. The front of the seat comes up a little, then back down, like it's pivoting at the rear of the seat. Any ideas?
Sounds like the normal to me unless I am misunderstanding. Mine rocks front and back. Most people just stick a board under the seat to "lock" it in place.
Ok, so maybe this is the same thing. I'll end up pulling my seat track apart and adding the spacers to the blocks then. I just thought that the typical thing was a forward to rearward movement, not a tilting movement like I seem to be experiencing.
Most of the rocking seat problems are forward to rear movements of a very small distance. It just feels like it is longer than it actually is. However, sometimes the height adjuster will go bad and allow the seat rear to move down on acceleration.
My 02 had the rocking seat problem, dealership said there was a Service Bulletin on the problem. They replaced the seat adjuster under warranty. Problem fixed.
I fixed mine for good. Replaced both sides with Manual rails. No movement what so ever and I lost about 100lb's. Passenger side is simple bolt on. The drivers side I had to modify the seat belt connection.
There are 2 issues... rocking and sliding. The sliding one can be fixed relatively easily by using the "Ken Robb" technique (tech tips)
The rocking is tougher and requires frame replacement. My passenger has this problem so I keep it fully back and tight.
