I was wondering if anyone has experienced this problem before and what the probable causes are. I have a 2001 six speed with 6,000 miles and I hammered it through 2nd and third gear and the service ABS flashed on the readouts. I turned it off and all was well for maybe two months, It did it again last night??? The abs?anti-lock computer was changed out at 2,000 miles for the same thing according to the owner and again right at 3,500. WTF??? I have searched the database and have reason to believe it may be a loose connector or weak pin tension. Let me clarify that this car was never driven in the rain. Suggestions, comments from the experienced only please. Thanks!
This is apparently an EBCM module malfunction or you have faulty grounds. Its best to clean the grounds and see if this corrects it. If not you need a new EBCM; a trouble code in the DIC of 1214 usually means its the EBCM. It is a very costly module to replace.
Thanks for the reply, I just researched how to check codes and discovered C1225H-excessive wheel speed variation. I assume the harness on that side must have a wiggle that trips the ground. Sounds like a very common problem from what I researched under the forum search. I will likely clean those contacts and reassemble, since the problem only occured the two times I really got into it, it would make sense that it is something loose. The grounds have never seen rain so, I doubt they have corrosion but, will check to be sure. Thanks for the input and the time.
EXPERIENCED PEOPLE?? Man,,,your really limiting the response pool!!
The best sequence of events that you can try is:
C1225H-excessive wheel speed variation: You have a bad connection at the Left Front wheel sensor circuit!!!! The FRONT wheels have a HUB that connects to an 18" jumper harness and then to the main harness. I suspect that you have a weak female pin in one of the harnesses. Do a pin pull test on all the female pins in that side of the harness!
Thanks for the replies guys, Question though...what good will swapping the harness do ? Will it make the code move to the other wheel and confirm the harness? or will the same wheel trigger revealing pin tension problem? Can anybody give me the decision tree on this? Thanks, I am trying to learn from this one
