Default Telescoping Wheel quit working

I have a 2004 with 10K Miles. The wheel used to go back and forth as I got in and out of the car and I could adjust it while driving. Now NOTHING. Any ideas? Thanks!

try pushing the switch 7-8 consecutive times towards the dash and see if the tele wheel moves. the tele wheel on my coupe required me to click it forward 7 times before it would move.

Thank you, that did the trick! After 8 clicks it went forward, another 8 in the oppisite direction to get it to move back out.
Whats up with that? It used to move with one press of the button. But hey I can adjust it now and it goes in and out with the key! Thank you so much

Glad that worked for you. At least I know I wasnt the only one it happened to.

I dont know what the problem was and I didnt feel like paying GM to tell me so I lived with it until I sold the car. I did notice it started right after I had tried to install my CLB. The CLB wouldnt work because the car had the k-harness recall done so I had to remove it. I may have messed up a BCM setting or something. Did you recently have electrical problems or changes?

I had posted asking if it happened to anyone else and pretty much got blank stares

No electrical problems. Had an oil change and right after that I noticed it. I have a year left on the warranty so if it gets any worse Ill have them look at it. I think there have to be more than us 2 who have had the problem weird as it is. But its working for me to get it where I want it. Thanks again

you rebooted the system .. it's a backdoor built into the system.

it resets the telescoping part .. i think you can press it 8 times or hold it for a certain length of time and it'll reset itself.

Man, I wish that worked for me. I followed the bump stop setting procedure and held it in 1 position for at least a minute and it would never go back to normal.

If you still have warranty left on the car. Get it fixed as soon as possible or you may eventually get used to it and forget to get it fixed before your warranty expires. If it is just resetting the BCM, they should be able to do it quickly.

Thanks for the info I dont know why it locked up in the firtst place. Im happy I dont have to drive with the wheel up against the dash and find time to make it to the Stealership! It took exactly 8 in both directions. If it happens again Il make sure to find the time to get it checked before the warranty runs out next year.
